Seasons of My Soul is a creative resource for Christians in the second half of life. It will support and affirm them on their ongoing spiritual journey by providing the opportunity to explore and share with others key aspects of their lives and experiences.
The resource focuses on eight themes for conversations: Identity; Memories; Transition times; Wisdom; Roles and relationships; Forgiveness and reconciliation; Death and dying; and the Celebration of life. These are opened up for exploration using interactive conversation tools, Bible texts, creative activities, social action topics, prayer and worship.
Seasons of My Soul will enable participants to explore and deepen their faith and discipleship by discussing and challenging inherited assumptions, nurturing the wisdom they already possess and finding new meaning in aspects of their life.
Printed in full colour, the book contains facilitator guidance and helpful templates to accompany each session.
Produced in partnership by The Methodist Church in Britain and The Church of England
“It’s well produced, colourful, with lots of hints for leaders and participants and templates which can be copied for group activities. Test drive it for yourself: at this price it looks a really good investment, and I hope it will give a boost to more support for all those who are looking to continue to develop and grow in faith in the later part of their lives.” plus magazine, Christians on Ageing
Haven't had a chance to read through it in detail but it looks like it will be helpful in planning small group sessions.
There is so much material in this book, and it gives opportunity for group members to interact and discuss. It was refreshing to see that it is a joint venture by Methodism and C of E. I started it last week with my small group and everyone thought it was very good. It covers 8 themes, but there is material for many more weeks. Excellent.
A very interesting and thought-provoking book.
will be a good resource
