Postcard booklet containing 24 detachable postcards from the Methodist Modern Art Collection.

The 24 works reproduced on these postcards are some of the most popular in the Methodist Modern Art Collection, selected and arranged to tell the gospel story. Starting with the Nativity, they progress through stories of Christ the teacher and of his miracles, to the events of Holy Week, culminating with the Ascension. Finally, we come full circle to Pentecost, regarded as the birthday of the Christian Church.

A valuable resource for house groups, for use in worship, or simply sent in the traditional manner for communicating with friends. The Methodist Modern Art Collection is essentially a touring collection, administered by an experienced Management Committee on behalf of a trustee body, the Methodist Council. Among the 55 paintings, drawings and prints that currently make up the Collection are works by world-class artists including Graham Sutherland, Elisabeth Frink, Edward Burra, Ceri Richards and Craigie Aitchison; all are represented within this postcard booklet.
