2020 Commissioning Service under considersation.
Possible publication date: Autumn 2020

The fresh, new and colourful design for the JMA Commissioning Service Sheet has been created especially with children in mind.

The theme for this JMA Commissioning Service resource is “Mission for Everywhere!” The materials are centred around “mission” and “one body, many parts” and are made to complement each other – however, each resource can also be used as a stand-alone, so feel free to pick and choose as much, or as little, as you like!

Other downloadable resources

For the first time ever, the JMA Commissioning Service includes an exciting range of accompanying downloadable resources available on the Methodist Church website: www.methodist.org.uk/jmacs19

two short videos

·         a mission-focused PowerPoint

·         extra activity worksheets

·         suggested prayers and hymns

·         scripture cards

·         points for discussion

The videos feature an inspiring example of mission at home and abroad respectively and can be screened to add an interactive element to your service. The projects featured are Phakamisa in Pinetown, South Africa (Wandering Teachers programme) and a story-telling garden in Bloxwich, West Midlands, which has been created to engage children with the gospel.

Junior Mission for All (JMA) is a fun way of encouraging children and young people to engage with God’s mission in Britain and throughout the world. Annual resources help support JMA members including the Rainbow magazine which brings news and stories from Partner Churches around the world, plus games and activities. Members are also asked to pray for the people they read or hear about and to serve by collecting and raising money from friends at church and elsewhere.

This Commissioning Service for JMA Collectors and JMA Secretaries can be used as part of a regular weekly worship service. It includes ceremonies for presenting certificates and badges to JMA collectors, and celebrating the work that this fundraising enables.
